Moong Badi Chawli - Moong Dal Mangodi with Yard Long Beans - Mangodi Seengare Recipe

Winters have set in and today I will share a recipe which I have learnt and seen only I got married, i.e. in my Sasural. The recipe is made with Moong Dal Mangodi/Badi/Wadi as they are called in North India. Yard Long Beans which are also known as Chawli/Lobia beans are used in this recipe to obtain a gravy like recipe, which can be relished with both rice as well as flatbreads/roti/paranthas. Another option is to serve these with matar pulao, which is how it is eaten at my sasural. The recipe has very mild pungent flavor due to the beans and tastes delicious during these months. Bharwan Methi Parantha - Stuffed Fenugreek Leaves Flatbread Recipe

With the onset of winters in most of India now, we get a lot of fresh green leafy vegetables in the market. These vegetables are packed full of all the essential vitamins and also taste super amazing during winters. Methi/Fenugreek leaves is one of the popular green leafy vegetable that you get in abundance during the season. There are many ways to incorporate this wonderful green in your cooking.
Today, I am sharing a new way of making stuffed Methi paranthas. Please note that you cannot prepare this stuffing in advance and keep as it has to be filled in the paranthas and cooked as soon as it is prepared otherwise the methi leaves will start leaving a lot of moisture and will make rolling of the dough very very difficult.
These hot paranthas taste amazing with various accompaniments, such as, pickle/raita/curd (as shown in the picture below). Let's get started...

Eggless Vanilla Chocochip Cupcakes - Eggless Vanilla Chocochip Muffins

Hello foodies,

Another cupcake recipe, this time with chocochips. I still remeber the days when I used to be fascinated by the local bakerywala, who got these vanilla chocochip cookies once in a while and I used to ransack the entire cupcake to dig out these half melted chocochips, ah memories...

So, while I now know better how not to ransack the cupcake/muffin, I make these goodies with dollops of chocochips, so that my son is not left digging the muffin in search of the elusive one. Let's get on with making the Vanilla Chocochip Cupcakes, super simple and easy to bake just like the earlier cupcakes.

Here's me wishing you and your loved one a very very happy and prosperous Diwali! Thank you for being a part of my food blogging journey! It means a lot :)

Okay, so for today I generally prepare a heavy breakfast as the entire family gets super busy with the Diwali pooja and rangoli preparations that Lunch is usually missed. So, let's prepare a hearty and heavy Diwali breakfast which takes very less time to prepare but is tasty nonetheless! 

The highlight of this Breakfast is the Methi Wale Aloo/Halwai wale aloo/bedmi wale aloo which is generally prepared as breakfast in baniya households during festivities as well as weddings. This potato curry is served with fluffy pooris/bedmis and halwa and raita but today I am preparing it as is with fluffy ajwain/carrom seed puris.

Hot temperatures may sometimes tempt us not to cross over the kitchen threshold and order food from outside. Even though it is very easy to do so with all means within our reach, nothing can beat the goodness, freshness, and hygiene of home cooked food.
