Hello foodies,

Today let's make a very simple, delicious, nutritious and easy to make vegetable recipe, the aloo french beans/potato french beans sabzi. French beans are available throughout the year and this vegetable is very easy to prepare as a side dish if you are having guests over for lunch/for dinner. This veggie is liked by young ones as well as senior citizens alike. Read on to know the ingredients and cooking procedure...

Ingredients (you will need):

French beans, 100 grams
Potatoes, 100 grams
Salt, to taste
Red Chilli Powder, 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder, 1/2 tsp
Amchoor Powder/Khatai/Dried Mango Powder, 1 tsp
Cumin/Jeera seeds, 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala, 1/2 tsp
Tomato Puree, 1 tbsp
Refined Oil, 1 tablespoon

Cooking steps:
1. Wash the potatoes and french beans thoroughly. Peel the potatoes and cut them into small cubes. Likewise cut the french beans into 1/2 cm long pieces. You can also cut the french beans/potatoes in any shape as per your liking.

2. In a pressure cooker, heat the cooking/refined oil. Add the cumin seeds and wait till they roast.

3. Once the cumin seeds are roasted, add in the rest of the spices, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and coriander powder. Let the spices saute on a low flame for 10 seconds.

4. Next add in the chopped veggies, followed by salt (to taste) and tomato puree.

5. Mix well and add 2 tbsps of water to the pressure cooker. Close the lid and let cook for atleast 2-3 whistles. Let the pressure release from the cooker (on it's own) before opening the lid.

6. Add in the amchoor powder and garam masala powder. Mix well. If you find some water still left in the cokker, put the cooker on a high flame for 2-4 minutes or till the water evaporates completely. Take care to not burn the sabzi.

7. The aloo beans sabzi is ready to be served with rotis/phulkas/paranthas of your choice.

Do try the recipe and let me know how it turned out for you in the comments below.
