Instant Appe - Quick Rava Appe - Colorful Capsicum Paniyaram Recipe

Hello foodies,

Today I am sharing a delicious and popular recipen for kids. You can also serve it as a snack or pack it in their school lunchboxes. My kid simply loves to take appe to school and the lunch definitely comes home empty that day. Super easy to make with whatever veggies you have on hand and super nutricious and healthy as well. The low quantity of oil used makes it a favorite with seniors as well. However, the appe don't compromise either on taste or health and both of these factors make it a great food. So let's get started with making the appe...

Ingredients (you will need):
Capsicum (all three colors), chopped - 1 small
Salt, to taste
Ground Black Pepper, 1/4 tsp
Musturd seeds, 1 tsp
Curd, 1 cup
Rava/Sooji/Semolina, 1cup
Eno/Fruit Salt, 1 tsp
Oil/ghee, 1 tablespoon

Cooking steps:

1. In a pan, heat some oil and splutter musturd seeds to prepare a tadka.

2. In a separate bowl, add curd, semolina/sooji, veggies, salt and black pepper.

3. Add in the tadka and mix well.

 4. It should look something like this.
5. Heat a appe mold pan. Add a little oil to each of the molds.

6. Add eno/fruit salt to the prepared semolina mixture. Stir well.

7. Pour a spoonful of batter into each mold. Fill all the molds with batter and cover the pan and let the paniyaram/appe cook on a low flame till crispy and golden brown.

8. Reverse the appe using a pointy wooden stick/fork gently and add little oil on top of each paniyaram. Cover once again and cook the appe till crispy from below as well.

10. Serve hot with chutney/ketchup of your choice.
