Hello foodies,
With the monsoon season upon us, we do crave snacks along with the good old chai. Most of these are fried, but today I am sharing a snack recipe, which is not only healthy but tasty as well. And to top it all takes a few minutes of cooking time, so let's get started with the recipe of poha/batata poha as it is called in maharashtra.
Ingredients (you will need):
Poha, 1 cup
Green chilli, chopped - 1 small
Cooking steps:
1. Take poha in a vessel.
2. Wash and drain the poha thrice by soaking it completely in water.
3. The poha will absorb some water.
4. At this stage add salt, turmeric powder and sugar to the poha and let it sit undisturbed for 5 minutes.
5. After five minutes, fluff up the poha lightly with a spoon or a fork.
6. In a pan, heat oil and add musturd seeds.
7. Once the musturd seeds start spluttering, add peanuts and roast them for a minute or till they turn golden brown.
8. Next add in the chopped green chillies and chopped boiled potato.
9. Add in the fluffed up poha and mix well.
10. Switch off the flame and add lemon juice. You may add in a spoonful of water if the poha looks too dry. Add in chopped coriander and mix well.
11. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot!
